Our last full day we took the train to Enkhuizen to go to the Zuider Zee museum. The entry to it from the station is via a ferry across the old sea harbour, now a inland marina on a fresh water lake. ©Stephen Dee 16 Aug 2002 ID P8160486

The Zuider Zee museum is a hands on open air museum recreating the life of the polders etc. When you cycle camp the theory is "wash one, wear one", so here is Ceri-Siân proudly standing under her hand washing! ©Stephen Dee 16 Aug 2002 ID P8160493 |
Ceri-Siân making a skipping rope. ©Stephen Dee 16 Aug 2002 ID P8160497 |
Ceri-Siân undertaking another hands on activity. Making a clog boat. I noticed the locals cheated and took the bits home to finish off - not Ceri! ©Stephen Dee 16 Aug 2002 ID P8160501 L P8160502 R |

The board says it 696Km gedaan (done) 13Km te gaan (to go). ©Stephen Dee 17 Aug 2002 ID P8170539

Farwell to the Netherlands. The view of Hoek van Holland Haven from the back of the ferry. Before the channel tunnel the station used see trains to all parts of northern Europe with through coaches to Copenhagen and Moscow. Now only a train to Rotterdam and Amsterdam connect with the ferry. ©Stephen Dee 17 Aug 2002 ID P8170543
