Our trip was really to visit Amsterdam, but I wanted to go a roundabout route and used the excuse of changing trains at Rotterdam and Utrecht for a quick look at their trams. This is Amsterdam CS station a lovely building with trams outside. ©Stephen Dee 14 Aug 2002 ID P8140390 |

Whilst in Amsterdam, the sight of thousands of half bikes and all those years pushing me on the tandem, Ceri-Siân got "Amsterdam HalfBike disease". It is no wonder when she saw sights such as the multistory bike park at Amsterdam CS station. ©Stephen Dee 14 Aug 2002 ID P8140419 |

As Amsterdam was very hot and humid Ceri-Siân, wanted to move on. As we got back in to the station she looked at the departure board and "Daddy there's one of those ICE trains you wanted to photo, you go take a photo and I will look round the shops and meet you back here". Ages and many photos later there is an announcement across the whole of the station "Will Stephen Dee father of Ceri-Siân please go to the booking office where his daughter is waiting". Our second full day in De Haan we decided to go on a tandem ride. But it was a scorcher and not a cloud to be seen. The only place we could find shelter from the sun was a ride around Den Haag and Delft. It was so hot even the track workers on the tram system had their parasols out!
